Sometimes it’s difficult to come up with good content on a consistent basis. If you’re in a rut, here are some ideas that may spark some interest.
- Plan out your content to educate your readers that you’re not JUST here to entertain, but that you have items or services to purchase!
- Create a top 10 list that people in your niche may want to know!
- Interview other experts in your market.
- Use UGC – User Generated Content. For instance, if you sell clothing, create a hashtag for your buyers to use when they post on social media. Use their content (with permission) to feature them.
- Look at previous content and expand on it.
- If you write a blog, use pertinent quotes from it on Twitter or Instagram by putting it on a meme (graphic).
- When you’re in line at the grocery store, not the topics the magazines are covering. Not the headlines they use to capture attention.
- Don’t forget to also entertain and inspire your followers. Use an occasional inspirational quote and expand on why it’s a favorite of yours.
- Ask questions. People love to answer simple questions such as “what your favorite toy growing up?” or “what sport can you hardly wait to come into season?”
- Share behind-the-scenes photos and information. People love to be in-the-know.
- Use testimonials – Put them on a graphic and share it with your audience.
- Read/watch the news and current events and if they pertain to your niche, give an opinion on them (but stay away from religious or political, unless one of those ARE your niche).
- Get ideas from what your competitors are doing (but don’t copy directly; put your own spin on it.)
- Remember that video, especially live video is king right now. Go ahead, take the leap and use anything on this list to talk about.
- Always keep a notebook to jot down ideas while you’re on the run.
- Make sure your message stays consistent.
- When doing video or podcasts, use the audio snippets.
